What is accordion lace? All the pros and cons of accordion laces
With the arrival of the warm seasons of the year, we all like to open the windows and take advantage of the soft spring and summer air. While we are sitting by the window and enjoying the gentle breeze, various insects such as mosquitoes and flies can be found. Despite these insects at home, it is not possible to enjoy the good air outside; So we may have to close the windows again.
There is a basic solution for this problem and that is the use of accordion laces or pleated laces. You must have seen the old laces. Old laces usually get damaged quickly and are difficult to open and close. Even after some time, holes may be created on them and create a way for insects to enter.
What is accordion lace? Is it different from pleated lace?
Accordion lace is a type of sliding lace that is usually made of polystyrene. Polystyrene has a flexible texture; So it can be opened and closed easily. This light lace becomes pleated when folded, that’s why it is also called pleated lace. In general, all the names of pleated lace, sliding lace and accordion lace refer to folding laces made of polystyrene.
Unlike other types of laces, this lace is very light and fits easily in its own frame, without weighing it down. Despite this feature, the lace can be compressed and opened and closed inside the frame. The accordion net does not obstruct the glass and window, so you don’t need to worry about it at all. Compared to horizontal mesh, it usually has less fans, but it can be a good screen for smaller windows in the building.
Double sided accordion lace
This net is similar to the horizontal net, but instead of opening and closing from one side, it moves from both sides within its frame. It is not recommended for normal windows of buildings, but it is the best option for doors and wide windows. The interesting and double-sided design of this type of pleated net allows you to open and close the net from both the right and left sides of the window.
